Create Backup Job
From the Veeam for Azure Portal, click on Create your first policy for create backup job.
Four table is available to backup Virtual machines, Azure SQL, Azure Files and Virtual network. Select the ressources that you want protexct and click on Add.
Type the desired name and click on Next. Description is optional
Click on Choose account and select service account then click on Choose regions to select the regions. Click on Select ressources to protect.

Veeam propose to backup all ressources or only a selection. Click on Protect the following ressources then select the ressource type (Subscription, Resource group, Virtual machine or tag). Click on Browse to select a target from the global list.
Select the VM then click on Add. Click on Apply to apply the modification.
Guest processing can be enable if needed (example : backup SQL Server, file server, etc.)
It’s possible during the schedule a hot and a cold repository. This configuration is performing during with the schedule option. Enable the option if you want protect the backup with two referentiels.
Configure the scheduling options. Three configurations can be configured (Weekly, Monthly or Yearly retention). Enable the desired option and click on the desired hour. Click on Apply
Configure other Windows, a cost estilmation is given. Click on Next.Click on Finish to proceed at the creation of the backup jobs. The different configuration option is available to start, Disable or change the priority. The Advanced option permit to import or export the policy.
We can see on the console the instances and the sessions. Click on the status for have some details.

Restore VM
After the backup, it’s possible to restore a backup. From the Veeam portal, click on Protected Data and select the backup job. We can see on the console the number of restore point.
Click on the link 1 point (for me) then click on Restore. Few actions is possible, VM Restore can be used for restore the VM (all disk files, config,…), Disk Restore for restore only the disk VM. File-Level Recovery option permit to restore file included on the VM (data file, OS file,…).
CLick on VM Restore. A new windows appear, click on Next.
Click on the link and select the desired service account.
Select the restore mode. Restore to the original location for restore the VM to the same location as the backup. Restore to a new location, or with different settings, this option permit to restore a VM to a other location or to restore VM with settings different to a backup (example : new azure subscription, new region.
If there any configuration issue, a new windows appear. If all is ok, click on Continue. Type the restore reason and click on Next. Click on Restore to launch the restoration.
